We usually have Ayam Masak Merah as one of many many dishes during our festivity - Hari Raya Puasa (Aidil Fitri) and Hari Raya Haji (Aidil Ad'ha). Easy to cook and not too time consuming.
1 medium chicken - cut
2 large onions
1 half thumb size ginger
1 three quarter thumb size fresh tumeric
1 three quarter thumb size galangal
2 pcs of lemongrass
6 pcs fresh tomatoes (you can opt to use about 3 tablespoons of tomato puree)
5 pcs birds eye chilli (red)
5 tablespoon chilli paste
3 pcs candlenuts
Salt, tumeric powder, sugar according to your tastebuds.
